Farmstead received accolades in The Charlotte Observer's travel section March 1. The newspaper asked travel and golf writer Alan Nichols of Maryland to select the top courses in the Grand Strand in three categories. He named Farmstead Golf Links the #1 course for its par 6 finishing hole. The course also placed #3 among the most scenic courses in the area. Our thanks goes to Superintendent Matt Smith and his fine crew for their consistently good work on the course.

See the complete article at www.charlotteobserver.com/travel. Nichols is a travel feature writer at www.golflink.com and is a single-digit handicap player.

A second phase of lots has been released for sale at Farmstead. Lots 63 to 89, priced at $129,000 to $175,000, are one-fourth to one-third acre each. Lots 63 to 74 border the fourth hole on Farmstead Golf Links. This section is ideal for people who wish to purchase at pre-construction prices and hold the property for a couple of years before building their new home as infrastructure development is still a year or so out. Full information is available from our dedicated sales team at 910-579-4200 or farmsteadliving@atmc.net.

Ratcliffes Talk about their New Home in Farmstead

For several years we have been interested in building our retirement home in Coastal Carolina; the area presents many close-by advantages – golf, fishing, beach, gourmet dining and shopping – and without the hustle and bustle of a larger city or resort town. Having initially fallen in love with Meadowlands - its friendly atmosphere, natural beauty and great golf course, we were intrigued when its developer, W.J. McLamb, told us he was opening Farmstead for development as a gated community with larger lots.  Knowing the care W. J. takes in establishing the high end appearance of a subdivision, we investigated further and found that the lots were not in a flood zone, the covenants required more substantial homes be built, there were great views of the golf course and ponds, and the master plan showed a thoughtful and complete development which was to our liking. We also discovered that Farmstead offered the best bargains in the area and a development team that is easy to work with. Without question, we are proud to be building in Farmstead and anticipate many happy hours in our new home.
