Brunswick Community College in Supply excels in several areas, including its aquaculture program. Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington celebrated 50 years in 2008. Also more than 50 years old, UNC Wilmington is one of the gems of the state’s university system. Each year it earns multiple accolades for outstanding teaching. Coastal Carolina University in nearby Myrtle Beach adds another strong program to the mix. All of the schools also have strong athletic programs.

CFCC’s Small Business Center offers scores of free seminars for entrepreneurs and small businesses as well as free business counseling services.
